Shou sugi ban is a Japanese technique of burning and then sealing lumber to improve its longevity outdoors. In this single day workshop, you’ll assemble a planter box with drills and screws—then we get the torches going. You'll learn how to safely operate a propane torch and control the level of char, prep for finish and seal with linseed oil. The planter is about 24” x 9” x 6”, with a pair of 1” horizontal supports. A plastic container that fits inside is included, flowers are up to you!
