If you've ever been frustrated by hand planes, this class is for you! Through demos and hands-on practice, you'll learn about the different types of hand planes, what they're used for, and how to set them up for optimal results.

Topics covered: types of planes and how they work, how to read wood grain, sharpening concepts, tips for setup, tuning and maintenance. Planes will be provided for your use during class, feel free to bring your own too. Note that sharp blades are a must for effective and enjoyable planing, so please bring your irons sharp or take a sharpening lesson in advance so you can get the most from this class.
