Instructors
I'm a former mechanical engineer and primarily self-taught woodworker and artist. I make playful and functional objects, furniture, and sculpture using a mixture of machines and hand tools.
As a teacher I aim to make the wood shop a comfortable environment for anyone and everyone. My specialties include machine safety and skill building, simple furniture design, and finding ways to turn scrap wood into useful and beautiful household objects.
I am an artist and a furniture maker with 20yrs behind me. My passion is teaching and learning how things are made while also making all the mistakes.
I specialize in ergonmic furniture design, machine safety, protyping, jig-making, bending wood and funny jokes.
I'm a woodworker with a studio art background, and approach woodworking by prioritizing safety and understanding of the process.
Available for beginner lessons that focus on the basics of a woodworking practice, building confidence, and understanding safe approaches to handheld and power tools.
As a professional woodworker for over two decades I specialize in woodturning parts for furniture and lighting companies, architects, contractors, and product designers. To share my love of the craft I’ve been teaching woodturning at Makeville Studio since 2014.
I look forward to helping students from my classes, and others with experience, to take their woodturning to the next level and gain the confidence to work independently.
I am an artist and woodworker with a special focus on hand carving and wood sculpture. I love to work through problems with students and encourage a holistic understanding of the process whether we're making furniture or learning to sharpen knives.
I am available for lessons geared towards beginner woodworkers focused on introductory techniques and machine safety/confidence as well as anyone interested in carving.
